This year, National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) takes place from September 14th – 20th, 2025, and we join the nation in thanking our truck drivers – the true backbone of the logistics industry.

How National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Started

Around 1998, the American Trucking Associations (ATA) asked a simple question: how do you give a massive group of hardworking professionals the recognition they deserve? The answer: a whole week dedicated just for them. And so, NTDAW was born.

Truck drivers make the world go ’round! According to TRIP, a national transportation research nonprofit, over 72 percent of U.S. freight moves by truck, which means if you’re using it or consuming it, there’s a pretty good chance it’s been handled by a driver. Yet too often, that person behind the wheel stays invisible. National Truck Driver Appreciation Week brings them back into view.
